A circa 1970's Japanese fine silk obi sash. Used for tying Kimonos at the waist, the obi is made from high-quality woven silk. the sash is fully lined with silk. This is a more modern style of Obi with a large portion of the belt (60 -80%) being folded and stitched in half. This makes it easier to wear as the narrow part wraps around the waist, while the wider part forms the bow of the obi tie.
