Black Silk Kimono Jacket with Shibori Fern

A circa 1960s Japanese fine silk Kimono jacket. It's made from woven black crepe silk and has a hand-tied 'fern' leaf shibori batik finish to the outer. The jacket is fully lined with off-white brocade silk. Due to the intricate nature, shibori is one of the most expensive and labour intensive ways of dying fabric. Learn about Shibori here.
